A year later, they are the Four Horsemen, big time stage illusionists who climax their sold out Las Vegas show with a bank apparently robbed for real.

It is sequel to the 2013 film Now You See Me and follows the Four Horsemen who resurface and are forcibly recruited by a tech genius to pull off an almost impossible heist. Crush intrudes at least minimally in some of the scenes in the Macau magic shop, as well as some very dark moments later in the film, especially once Michael Caine makes his reappearance. I used to think that the characters in the first movie were good and well tough out — they were good as a team and fun to be watched. It's just a really light, breezy, nonstop fun movie, and it knows it. And the trailer for this movie looked like it would be more of the same, which I was completely fine with. However, these few scenes couldn't save this forgettable mess of a film. Their just trust is to perform one final remarkable trick to clear their names and uncover the driving force behind it all. Over and over again the track exploits all of the surround channels, including the overhead ones, in a number of standout sequences that offer lots of crowd noise, including the rollout at Octa early in the film and a much later sequence in a Macau nightclub. Now, one could argue that Lizzy Caplan's character was intentionally annoying, and that Woody Harrelson's twin character was intentionally unfunny, and while I would agree with that, it still didn't make for an enjoyable viewing experience, especially when these two characters had a significant amount of screen time. That sets up the overly convoluted endgame, where a number of competing interests collide as the Horsemen attempt to purloin the top secret chip which will allow whoever controls it to access data anywhere on any platform.
