I don't know why you would spend all of that money to make a bad movie. When one of the teens is captured, those who remain - a group that includes the cop who put a bullet in Goodnight's head four years ago - band together to survive against the brutal killer. Kane Hodder's monster antics are always a delight, and Adam Green will definitely be a name to watch in the future. There is something sinister about horror films set in the bayou, especially Louisiana n Green made full use of the settings. Its Mardi Gras in the French quarter, so there's lots of bare breasts which is nice and some semi funny dialouge. That being said, it's obvious that the people involved in the production have a real love for the genre.
What, no one can come up with anything better than Torture Porn, so we have to go backwards? In fact, a certain rhetorically named fan-boy website that prides itself on cool news has already lauded the movie's villain as the next horror icon. Synopsis When a group of tourists in a New Orleans haunted swamp tour find themselves stranded in the wilderness, their evening of fun and spooks turns into a horrific nightmare. But when the boat sinks and the ghost story turns out to be real, the group tries desperately to escape the swamp with their lives. . Put Victor to bed and let him rest in peace. Total mess of a movie. His comic timing is very good n his character was a perfect sigh of relief in a very tensed n gory slasher. Saw this on a rented dvd. Everyone was so obnoxious that you seriously couldn't wait for them to die, and all were embarrassing stereotypes.
At least make some characters likable. Green follows the stock formula for such movies: take a bunch of folks, find an excuse to strand them in monster country, and let the audience revel in watching them get picked off one-by-one. Watch out for Dave Sheridan. I never once jumped out of my seat, much less my skin. Waiting to buy a copy of it. I love both the 1st and 2nd film, the 3rd was ok but the high kill count and gore made up for it. You'll be begging for more Victor screen time because it takes forever between kills.
Rather, he's paying homage to a genre that he grew up with, as is clear by the cameos he's given to icons Robert Englund Nightmare on Elm Street and Tony Todd Candyman and numerous others. I made an account just to review this movie. Have all the 3 parts in my dvd collection. There is sooooo much talking in this movie. The lead actor was undeniably funny. Seriously, like 45 minutes in!! Clearly Green knows his audience likes to sit back, kick the Fangoria magazines off the couch, and watch somebody take a belt sander in their kisser. In terms of horror movies, there's nothing going on here that is particularly inventive or even scary, but Green clearly isn't out to achieve that.
This wasn't even B movie bad. Ten years after the events of the original movie, Victor Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and proceeds to kill once more. In summary, I'd certainly recommend the film for anyone who gets a kick out of the slasher craze of the 80s, but be sure you're in the mood for goofy fun and not an actual horror flick. Structured largely as a parody of the Friday the 13th films, Hatchet casts legendary Jason Voorhees stand-in Kane Hodder as Victor Crowley, the deformed son of a backwoods Louisiana bayou fisherman also played by Hodder , who was presumed killed years earlier in a house fire started by a bunch of tormenting local kids. I'm getting so bored of all this, aren't you? But when the boat sinks and the ghost story turns out to be real, the group tries desperately to escape the swamp with their lives.
Fans of the series will love this. Bolstered by good acting, top notch production values, and intentionally rubbery costume effects, Hatchet panders to the fan-boy crowd in glorious revelry. I had complained in my review of the first part about the no usage of crocodiles in such settings. Synopsis When a group of tourists on a New Orleans haunted swamp tour find themselves stranded in the wilderness, their evening of fun and spooks turns into a horrific nightmare. If only there was some short crocodile terror in this installment, i wud have loved it even more. Fans of the series will definitely enjoy this but those who havnt seen the series will also enjoy this as it has plenty of laughs, brutal n bloody deaths n claustrophobic atmosphere. Why do we have to keep re-hashing the same old tired clichés? Victor Crowley was badass and that's about it.
Thank God the movie was only about 80 minutes long. The gore is great but it needed way more kills and better pacing. While I think labeling Victor Crowley as the next horror icon in the same vein as Jason, Michael Myers, and Freddy is complete preposterousness, saying Adam Green is someone to keep an eye on is a more realistic, and complimentary laurel. Hopefully the 5th film if it happens will be better paced, have less annoying characters, and please, a higher god damn kill count! Adam Green shud be applauded for making such an entertaining brutal slasher n considering its low budget, he did a mighty fine job. Devotees of the horror genre will see this no matter what is written. My wife and I are big New Orleans fans so when we heard a movie was shot on location there, we jumped at the chance to see it. A group of delinquents are sent to clean the Blackwell Hotel.
